Advantage Rent a Car Review
I suppose the title of this post may be somewhat misleading. This is not a formal review of Advantage Rent a car. But if you made it here, I assume you are trying to find out if Advantage is the company you want to choose for your next car rental.
What to Look for in a Car Rental Review
Any search for a review of a car rental company will turn up hundreds of results. There are two important things you need to know BEFORE making a decision based on reviews you see online.
#1 Take Negative Reviews with a Grain of Salt.
Usually its those people who are unhappy who will go online to post a review. Blame it on human nature. When we’re unhappy with something, we are more likely to want to talk about it and get it off our my mind. For some its about revenge. Whatever the reason, you need to know that most reviews found online will tend to me written by people who had a negative experience. Of course, you want to know if people have had a bad experience with a company, but keep in mind that there will ALWAYS be dissatisfied customers. Instead of reading too much into the detail of each review (or complaint) look at the sheer volume. If you see the company has a lot of negative reviews, then this is a bad sign. If its just a few, I would dig deeper.
# 2 Search for Local Reviews
If you really want to know about a rental car company and how they will treat you, you need to look for reviews written about the exact location where you will be renting from. Why? Well, most rental car agencies are actually individually owned franchises. Some are corporate locations, but most are not. This means that business practices vary greatly depending on who the owners are.
Advantage Rent a Car
Ok, so what about Advantage Rent a Car? With this company, I strongly recommend you look for a review based on where you are going to rent the car. Business practices and customer service levels VARY greatly based on locations. Looking at some reviews online, I found some very negative ones for some places, and outstanding ones for others.
Hope that helps.

Don’t fall for the gimmicks folks. Look at the overall package before deciding on a car rental or use a booking engine designed to lower fees.
Never Leave Home without Car Insurance
No matter which state you are driving in auto insurance is a requirement.
Travelers are always offered insurance for the rental cars. It is not required to purchase, but it is the law to be covered. If you reject to purchase auto insurance for your next car rental assuming your current policy has you covered, you better think again. It is best to be sure.
You should speak to your car insurance agent to ensure there are no gaps in their coverage. Credit card companies may offer car insurance coverage for vehicles that are rented with their cards. Its important to speak to your credit card company because coverage may vary between companies and there could be several speculations that you should be aware of.
When preparing to travel, take a few minutes to find out if your rental car will be insured through your current car insurance policy. If not, rental car insurance is highly recommended for drivers. Accidents can happen anywhere, so why pay so much in repairs when you can pay so little for protection.
